Thanks to the Flower Company, in addition to the famous Coral Fern, we can offer many other beautiful products from southern Africa.

We spoke with Wilmé Kotze, she told us all about the company, the work, the team and the product. Read on quickly.

1. Can you tell us more about the company?

The Flower Company employees are all specialists in the floriculture industry, yet passionate and dedicated to sharing the beautiful and unique Cape Flora with the rest of the world. We are involved from the technical aspects to the logistics needed to get your product from the best quality suppliers, at super competitive prices and the most efficient logistics. For our customers and suppliers, we literally go to the ends of the earth.

2. What does your company stand for?

Integrity, reliability, quality and transparency.

4. How long have you been supplying the WBE group?

The channels have evolved over the years, but it's been almost 25 years.

5. What products do you supply to the WBE group?

The main product is Coral Fern, but the WBE group also purchases a wide range of our other green products and flowers.

6. What do you think are the benefits of the WBE group?

The WBE group has an excellent reputation in the market and we are privileged to mention them as one of our customers

7. What is your role within the company?

We are all part of a close-knit team that fulfills every role as needed.

8. What does your day look like?

It's the flower business! So we are at work when the rest of the world is asleep. We do the necessary quality checks. Then we assign the previous night's deliveries to the relevant shipments, make sure all phyto-inspections and documentation are done correctly and in time for delivery to the relevant airlines. We then process all new orders to get them to our suppliers as quickly as possible, for delivery that evening. By the time most people arrive at work, we have already had a 4-5 hour day.

9. Do you have any tips/tricks for your product?

Most of our products are hardy, but to ensure extra long vase life and quality: Proper cold chain management and cutting off stems before putting them in clean water.
