Imposing, colorful, versatile. The Lily has quite a bit of personality. This makes the flower a popular ringleader in bouquets. The cheerful flower was chosen as flower of the month of June because it is available in different colors that already give us a summer feeling. Last year we deliberately chose summer scenes by combining the Lily with Exotics. Read that blog here. This year, arranger Tanja van Bijlevelt chose to use old acquaintances.

OLD KNOWN

By old familiar, we mean products that have been in our range for an incredibly long time. Each of these products has been popular for some time. You can think of products like Tree Fern, Asparagus, Salal and Beargrass.

SALAL

Salal, also called apple leaf, is a very popular cut green. The green is a perfect base for any bouquet thanks to its volume and long shelf life. This is also well reflected in the large bouquet Tanja made for us. In all cases, Salal was a solid base for the Lily.

Salal comes from the West Coast of America. There, the leaves are picked by hand. Salal is available year-round in 3 sizes: Salal mini, tip & long. We also offer Salal with MPS certificate.

TREE FERN

Tree Fern is a widely used decorative green worldwide. The green comes from the asparagus family. Tree Fern gives a lot of volume in the bouquet due to its many branches. Perhaps even more than Salal. Because of its length of 70cm, the green can be used in many bouquet shapes.

Now that the Lilies are still closed it is already a beautiful combination, but just wait until the Lilies come out!

ASPARAGUS

There are an awful lot of different species of Asparagus available in our webshop. Tanja chose this month to work with Asparagus Falcatus. The green playfully stands out among the other greenery and flowers. Despite the soft appearance of the greenery, it does have sharp spines, beware of this.

BEARGRAS

Beargrass is one of the many grasses we offer in our assortment. Beargrass is a flexible grass, available in different lengths. The flexibility makes the grass ideal for wickerwork.

The youtube video shows Tanja using the grass curved. She twists the grass around an oasis ring without breaking it. But the grass is also a great green to use as straight, playful strands.
