Behind the scenes

After our products are processed at our overseas suppliers, this Rotterdam-based party ensures that we get our products delivered without stress.

UTI Forwarding is a Rotterdam forwarder, shipping 90000 containers a year in both import and export areas. They stand for the true Rotterdam mentality: no bullshit, hard work and a good time every now and then.

We engaged in a conversation with Stan de Kramer. He told us all about the ins and outs of UTI. Read the entire interview below.

  1. Can you tell us more about the company?

UTI Forwarding is a Rotturrdamsche forwarder, shipping 90000 containers per year in both import and export areas.

"We focus mainly on refrigerated and frozen products, these are shipped through the so-called reefer containers. We also ship and transport goods for the WBE group using these "reefer containers".

  1. What does your company stand for?

UTI stands for the real hands-on, Rotterdam mentality. Not bullshit but cleaning, hard work and occasionally a little fun. Where hard work is combined with a nice and friendly atmosphere.

Collegiality is of paramount importance to us.

  1. What happens to our products the first moment you are involved?

We organize the transportation of the products, for example from Costa Rica or Guatemala. Furthermore, we take care of all necessary customs formalities and try to ensure that the containers arrive at your unloading address on time.

We obviously keep in close contact with customs. Since Central America is considered a risk area in their eyes, a container may still be checked.

When this is not the case, we organize transport to the WBE group's storage facility.

  1. How long have you been working with WBE?

Our cooperation with the WBE group is already one of the older ones within our company we have been working with the WBE group for more than 30 years.

The relationship we have therefore goes beyond purely business, we can safely say that within our organizations a true friendship has developed at various levels and levels in both organizations

  1. What do you think are the benefits of WBE?

Although we have nothing to do with the products of the WBE group, we do know the people at WBE, with whom we have had the pleasure of working for more than 30 years. And what we can say about that is that the WBE group consists of a pleasant group of hard-working people, on whom we have been able to rely for a long time.

I think we can describe the WBE group as the perfect partner: Reliable, sociable and an unstoppable drive! Have some drawbacks of course, would love to have a beer together sometime....

  1. What is your role within the company?

My role within UTI is in sales, what I mainly do is approach new relationships and maintain contact with existing ones.

  1. What does your day look like?

As for my day, it can vary tremendously, which is perhaps also the charm of shipping.

It's a trade that doesn't stand still. In fact, there is never a day that is the same, you come in and the schedule can be totally different from what you expected.

  1. Can you share with us some behind-the-scenes photos or videos of your company or team?

Colleague Marc van Overdam has been involved with the WBE group from minute 1, he also organizes all transport for the WBE group. He is therefore very attached to his Rijnsburg Boys shirt!
